Your finished product has five levels of parts inside it. Can your team actually see all of them in one place?
With a flat list, planners open every sub-assembly separately and multiply quantities by hand. The new BOM Tree shows the whole structure on one screen.
You will find it in the Production menu, under BOM, right next to FG BOM and BOM Costing. There is nothing new to enter.
It reads the finished-goods BOMs you already have. Any component with its own BOM opens as a branch, quantities multiply down every level, and loops in bad data are stopped safely.
Step one. Search by name, item code, part number or BOM number, click the product, and optionally enter how many finished goods you plan to make.
Step two, read the tree. A summary strip shows lines, sub-assemblies, unique raw materials and depth. An arrow means a sub-assembly, a dot is a leaf item.
Step three. Expand all, collapse all, or show only up to level two or three for a quick overview. Deeper levels indent under their parent.
Step four. Type a part code or name, and every matching row is highlighted with its parent branches opened. Set the FG quantity, and the requirement for that build appears.
Step five. Print the complete tree in one click, with the header block, level and indent on every line, and sub-BOM numbers shown.
Planners get the true requirement, purchase sees every raw material however deep it sits, and the shop floor gets one clear printed tree.
